[Lust looks less than pleased and bordering on frustrated. Behind her can be seen a slinky Glameow teasing a perplexed looking Spheal, rubbing affectionately against the rounder Pokemon and then swatting him at random. A Jigglypuff keeps attempting to push its way onscreen, in front of Lust. She pushes Chanteuse away every few moments, with less and less gentle delicacy each time.]

Does anywhere know where to find any intimidating looking Pokemon? I have a children's carnival act following me everywhere I go now.

[It's ridiculous.]

Not that I don't appreciate them all, of course. [Another firm to shove to keep her Jigglypuff from blocking her] But I'd like to have something a bit more imposing to throw out in battle.

Or imposing at all.

[Forget philosophy and musings on the nature of her existence for a moment, she just wants anything that doesn't look like a stuffed animal come to life.]

[Here, Lust, enjoy this completely serious straight-faced young man. In fact, he looks just a little haunted.]

You've never been attacked by twelve Jigglypuff in the dead of night, have you?

Once you know what they're capable of, they're plenty intimidating. It's the soulless eyes that do it.

They will likely look more "imposing" once they evolve. Most Pokémon seem to be of the "children's carnival act" nature until they grow.

[DUUUHHHH.]

Well perhaps you should tame your kitten before moving onto something bigger. It's scratching at Guttle.

[Envy just looks...really amused.]

If you train those and let them evolve, they might get scarier. I mean, Chimera was just a little green blob of happiness when I first got him.

[Chimera being Envy's own Tyranitar starter, who Lust has definitely seen by now; he has Chimera out most of the time.]

...Except the Jigglypuff. I don't think those get any more intimidating.

[Consequences what are those?]

It's good for getting people to underestimate them in battle, though. Especially if they still look cute when they get stronger. Teach them Flamethrower or Thunderbolt and nobody expects it.

[Normally he defaults to using text, but he'll use video mostly to show his gaggle of Pokemon in the background, none of whom look very intimating. One of which is an oversized sleeping bug.]

From what I've been able to learn here, they have a tendency to look more intimidating after they evolve. I guess I haven't been battling enough to see that happen myself, though.

Someone I've met here has a pretty intimidating looking partner.

Well... hmm.

Bido is supposed to evolve and look fairly intimidating. He's a Totodile. Cute little alligator looking thing. Apparently he's supposed to turn into something called "Feraligatr" eventually and I looked it up and he's going to look pretty impressive.

Hopefully it doesn't change his personality any. I'm more worried about that than having a fierce looking team.

...Give your Glameow a few weeks and she'll be intimidating enough for six teams, believe me. Unless her personality is sweet enough to give you canities.

You'll definitely reach the minimum imposing quota soon, then. But you can always look for a Rock- or Steel-type. They tend to look massive and dangerous, and they make good shields against cat claws as a bonus.

[Is Heather making a point of replying to this post with her two enormous Houndoom visible on either side of her, lounging on the bed like they own it.]

Eh.

You just gotta get a little adventurous when you're out looking for stuff to catch, s'all.

[Heather you're a fucking liar all your scary Pokemon are hand-me-downs.]

[But her expression is perfectly blase as she tugs idly on an old sock that the bigger of the two Houndoom is SHAKING VICIOUSLY LIKE A WILD ANIMAL RAAAAA]

I hear there's some scary shit in Dark Cave, though. Might wanna start there.

It's a ways outside'a Violet.

It honestly depends, some pokémon are born looking scary and other grow into it. Then there are just pokémon who have scary personalities, so even if they look cute it's pretty hard to cover up.

[He would know a lot of his pokémon are sadist.]

If you're still in the towns before Goldenrod or Saffron, then a zubat or ghastly might be your best bet.

If you go down the egg route, an Absol will certainly fit the bill.

[Hey, Lust. Sorry about the fact that this is audio-only, but Isaac doesn't really like to put his face out there for the network to see. He's a bit paranoid.]

Some intimidating Pokémon aren't all that good. It also depends on what types you're looking for. I don't know all of the Pokémon, but I can give you some suggestions if you're looking for anything specific.
glaciates: (HUH ❅ amestris is a circle isn't it)

sorry I'm so slow

[personal profile] glaciates 2014-06-26 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
That's definitely true. I don't have much experience with Rock or Steel-types, but if you're looking for dual types, Omastar and Kabutops are both useful. They're both Rock and Water-types and they're both intimidating looking. I guess they're a little on the small side though. Maybe a Steelix would be what you're looking for? It's a Steel and Ground-type, I think.
