Time is such a funny thing.

[Lust is sitting outside, clearly enjoying the early evening, and her Spheal and Eevee can be seen playing together in the background.]

It feels as though I just woke up in this world a short while ago, but tomorrow morning will mark a full year's passing.

When I first came here, I had nothing, not even my life. Now I sit here with my own home, family, people I call friends, a vocation of my own. I've been given a chance to know those I never would have before, offered opportunities that had been ripped away, handed the liberty to dictate my own actions and path in life.

And I think I hated this place, a little, at the beginning. The strangeness of it, the unfamiliarity, the changes it wrought in my physical form.

That's the thing about time.

It changes all things, eventually.

[His grin is amused, but there's genuine fondness in it. He's not sure how to say it, but he's so proud of her, and how she's found happiness. He always thought she deserved to come here more than he ever did, and now look. He smirks a little, teasing.]

I remember you didn't look too happy when we did first meet up, in all that rain.

I'm glad to hear that your opinion changed. I always kind of liked this place, but after my sister came here, well, now it's kind of like paradise, really! I almost don't want to leave!

I was lucky, my brother was already here when I arrived. I have come to be fond of this place. This life.

I don't intend to leave, if possible. I don't see why it shouldn't be.

This is probably the longest I've stayed in one place that wasn't a hotel.

I'm inclined to believe everyone does, to some extent. Time brings change, nothing that thinks enjoys changes.

Time's weird like that. I haven't been here that long, but... I know I've changed. I've gotten more comfortable with things that I thought I'd lost... though I still miss the things I had.

But marking a year is still important, so... congratulations.

I haven't been away from it long enough to form an unbiased basis for comparison. Maybe in another thirteen years here, instead of there...
