[The less people Sasha has to hang around with anymore, the longer the summer days seem to last. For someone who grew up in a tiny isolated village, one could say she's learned the bad habit of socializing with others and now that's coming back to bite her in the rear end.
It's so lonely in this island house now. Everybody's got their somebody except for her. Armin's moved out onto his houseboat. Jean and Bertolt are gone from this world. Annie was never part of Sasha's social circle and the few people that were part of it have been gone for months. The other residents are from the same world, so they have a connection Sasha can't even attempt to break into.
Most of her days are now spent on the porch by herself and today is no exception. In her hands is a long tree branch, debarked and being sanded down into a dowel like shape, only the very end is pointed. Very reminiscent of an arrow, don't you think?]
[Lust has been doing much the same, keeping to herself. She's just Shiro's friend, visiting the islands for the warm months. She doesn't want to be in anyone's way or intrude on grief.
But she notices Sasha, the porch is clearly visible from where Lust has had her water Pokemon out to play on the beach. The poor thing. Children take losses harder, Lust believes. After a moment, she stands from her beach blanket and wraps her lavender full length cover around her to protect from the sun and approaches.]
If I'm intruding, please tell me to move along. But I thought perhaps you'd like to join me...
[These children, these child soldiers molded into killing machines, probably take them harder than most. Sasha's never truly had the freedom to grieve much of anything. After all, there was no time to cry for the dead at home if one didn't want to join them. It was buck up and move on. So now that she does have the freedom and time and space to mourn all kinds of losses... she doesn't know how. All Sasha can do is go back to the past she does remember and that's coming in the form of making an arrow she can't really use.
She's seen the woman who's approaching her around the island, knowing her only as one of Shiro's many friends. They've never spoken, mostly because Sasha feels Shiro's friends are his friends and therefore not very likely to have any interest in her, and also this lady is clearly an adult. Forgive Sasha for being hesitant around grownups.
Now she's speaking to her and Sasha can't help but be confused at the very unexpected offer to join her.]
Excuse me?
[Surely, she's not talking to Sasha, right? Sasha even glances behind her just in case someone else is sneaking around back there and that's who this lady is directing her offer to. Nope. No one there but the air.]
Yes, you. You seem as on your own as I am today. And it seems silly for us both to be keeping only ourselves company.
[Besides, Lust has found herself quite fond of children and drawn to them. There's some natural pull to try and offer some sort of comfort or distraction to the girl. But in her own way.]
[Why not? Sasha's honestly asking herself why. Yes, she's alone, lonely even, and beggars cannot be choosers when it comes to company. But this lady probably has better options.
Eyes wide in confusion, Sasha frowns at the questioned presented to her.]
Because you're Shiro's friend.
[It's more of a question than an actual statement. Why hang out with a loser kid when she can hang out with a cool space dude?]
[If this Miss Fitz has a lot of friends she can spend time with, why is she coming to Sasha? That's what Sasha doesn't get. She's sure those friends are much cooler than her backwoods self. Everybody else seems to be.
Maybe she should apologize ahead of time for not being as interesting as those other friends. Or maybe Sasha shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth when it comes with an offer of a few less minutes stewing in her own head.]
I'm Sasha Braus. [She drops the sheet of sandpaper between her fingers before wiping her hand clean on her pants, holding it out for a polite shake.] I remember you from the network.
[Sasha narrowing her eyes at the arrow and then up at Lust. Arrows are weapons as far as she's concerned. She's never heard of them being used to play a game.]
A game of skill and hand and eye coordination. We make various lines in the sand and we try and throw the thick arrows so that they both fly straight and true and also land upright buried in the sand.
[Lust is more or less describing an AU version of lawn darts.]
[This still sounds like a wacky idea to Sasha, but honestly, what does she has to lose but a little bit of time and a whole lot of loneliness? So she shrugs to herself and gets up off the porch floor, setting aside the half-finished project and makes her way down to the sand.]
We'd have to get the dry stuff, though. If it's damp, it'll splinter when we try to sand them down.
[Lust turns her attention to the shore that's not as close to the water.]
I live in Goldenrod, I don't spend much of my time at the shore. But my water Pokemon love it so.
[And god knew she needed to get out of the house for a time. The islands have been good for that, though she hasn't done much of anything for her time here. Of course she supposes that's the point.]

People can have more than just one friend. I have lots of them, and I spend time with them all.
[The girl seems so lonely...it speaks to Lust. She takes a few steps closer, to the edge of the porch.]
I'm Miss Fitz, we've spoken a few times over the gears.

[Lust takes the offered hand to shake it. Her eyes move to what Sasha had been holding, curious.]
Are you making something?
no subject
[It was keeping her distracted for the moment. Something to keep her hands busy when the rest of her just wants to cry all day long.]
It's nothing, really.
no subject
[Lust taps a finger against her lips thoughtfully, eyeing the arrow.]
If we make a few more thicker ones, I know a game we could play with them. It should work perfectly fine in the sand along the water.

[And also on the ground. Sounds like a good idea to Sasha in theory, but there's still a problem:]
But with our hands? Are you sure we don't need bows to do this right, Miss?
no subject
[And Lust prefers walking along the shore and gathering things up to going in it anyhow. It's too large and deep and unpredictable, she's no fool.]
[She gestures for Sasha to join her.]
