[The video feed shows Lust sitting on the kitchen floor, in her black sweats, hair pulled back. She's been practicing her solo act with Guttle, and it's the ridiculously large and food loving Spheal that is on her mind at the moment.]

I've started yoga. I enjoy it.

O-oh? That's great. I think it's pretty relaxing, I'm glad my suggestion helped.

Why? Well, you see... [she shrugged. Information like this... didn't really matter here, did it?] I used to have a bunch of different abilities. I could see infrared, use poisons, I was stronger and faster then I am here. I could even breath fire.

[...She chuckled.] That sounds silly, doesn't it?

[Lust only nods when Veronica explained.]

No, that doesn't sound silly. I had beyond human abilities before I came here, too. I still miss some of them.

[that drew a breath out of her. Thankfully, this world was more accepting of such things then home.]

R-really? Like what? I mean, you don't have to ask, of course!

[She's bad at this.]

No, it's fine. I've seen no reason to keep any secrets about what I am. Was.

[Especially with others who weren't entirely human back in their worlds, either.]

I was faster, and stronger, and close to indestructible. My body healed itself immediately of any damage it suffered. That was very useful. I'm still fast and strong and agile, but only in the way skilled and fit humans are.

...I guess.

[She was required to always keep secrets in the past. That. was a very different way to think.

And, hmm. Interesting.]

I... knew someone like that, back home. I have many of those same abilities, too.

I had to back home. Here...no one cares. It's refreshing. There are a number of us who were different in some way, before coming here.

Do you miss them?

... I know how that feels, being different.

[siiigh.]

Do I... W-well... I guess I do. She was rude as hell, though, and liked to mess with me and my sister. I still can't believe we were related.

It can be very lonely.

[The words stung a bit, but only because they were so true.]

My family is like me, too. But... different, you know?

But you aren't alone anymore, are you?

I understand. My kin are the same - the same, but slightly different. Of the same order but different breeds, I suppose.

Sometimes losing the old simply makes way for the new. You have friends and those that care about you here, don't you?

[The hesitation in Veronica's answer seemed to surprise even her.]

I've been here for a few months, and I think there's people here that I can call my friends. [She smiled crookedly.] And they probably think that too.

That's what matters. It doesn't matter if the friends and family you find here came from home or not. Only that you find them.

[Expression unreadable, a silence swept over Veronica.]

That sounds like a lesson you learned yourself.

I suppose it is.

[Lust is quiet herself for a moment.]

My views on my own ability to coexist and be welcomed as part of humanity have been changed for the better since coming here, let's just say that.

I'm glad! That's the best thing that could happen... to people like us.
