You just have to want to hang out with them, or find them interesting to talk to. Someone you don't want to punch in the face being around.

Actually, you know what? Sometimes there are plenty of friendships that involve punching each other in the face. It's different for everyone.
And if it doesn't work, you can always just break it off.
