Scar never managed to remain at peace for this long. Usually, some bit of guilt sprung up. He let his spiraling thoughts get the better of him. He got distracted, or nervous, or...
Maybe it was just a better night than usual.
It was still overwhelming and a little odd to be so close to her. Scar had to pause for a moment, focusing on the feel of her hand in his. That he was really here. When he did crouch to kiss her again, it was more assuredly than before. He could do just fine at this.
Lust's hands went to the back of his neck, her fingers twining together to hold him. She moved into him easily, brushing her mouth against his. Again her mouth parted slightly, gently enveloping his lower lip. She hadn't been sure if he'd want to return to their mild fumbling on the couch, but he had lost his hesitation as well.
Things really were so much better between them now.
Scar could maintain this for a while. It almost came naturally, and this was so much more pleasant than he would ever have thought. The room had grown a touch chilly now that it was evening, but he hardly noticed. He hardly noticed anything except the places their bodies touched, curled up on the couch.
Cautiously testing, he rested his hand on her thigh. He didn't really know what was off limits, or what had implications he didn't want to be giving.
Lust continued her gentle exploration of Scar's lips, giving attention to each. It was only natural for the tip of her tongue to slip out now and then, to trace the lines of his mouth. She shifted a bit closer when his hand dropped to her thigh, without thinking.
There was no thinking about it with Scar. Her body seemed to know what to do, when. There were no calculations or posturing.
Scar gave a slight shiver when he felt the tip of Lust's tongue against his lips. He couldn't conjure up a word for how this felt. It wasn't quite like anything else. He knew what a fantasy felt like, but what about when it wasn't a fantasy? Actual romantic intimacy was never quite real to him before.
As his hand slipped over her leg, Scar became keenly aware of just how much he was enjoying the reality.
Scar pulled his hands away a touch too suddenly, and he drew away from the kiss. They were just kissing. According to his logic, he shouldn't have been physically aroused from just... this. But he could feel the beginnings of it, so it was definitely time to stop.
He only wished he could have had a little more tact about it.
Lust blinked at the sudden ceasing of activity, looking at Scar curiously as he pulled back. What was wrong? Had her tongue been too much?
Her mouth was still slightly parted, her lips wet and cheeks flushed. She wasn't quite ready to be done, but if Scar was, they were done. She wasn't going to argue against that for a moment.
Scar was awkwardly still for a moment, regretting that he had been so abrupt and far more flustered than he ought to have been. His hands hovered for a moment as he floundered for the right thing to say.
And she was leaving in the morning, they couldn't stay up all night. But it was still a disappointment to call an end to the evening on the couch. Even all of their Pokemon were sound asleep.
Scar nodded stiffly, keenly aware of how red his face probably was. He hesitated another moment before crouching to press a light kiss to the corner of Lust's mouth before standing to go back to the bathroom to get ready for bed.

How had she lived for so long without this?

"I should go to bed," he finally mumbled.
