[The broadcast begins with a stirring bit of string music. Lust's voice comes in over the music, intoning like a classic radio announcer.]

"Good evening ladies, gentlemen, and Pokemon. Welcome to the debut broadcast of Whatever Theater, Presented by Fill In Blank Productions. Tonight, please join us for the first installment of The Golden Hand, a tale of blinding greed, dastardly doings, and revenge from beyond the grave.

Brought to you by... ????"

[Opening: soft, eerie music. THADDEUS narrates.]

I saw her from across the street, the most beautiful woman I'd ever laid eyes on. Long red hair and big green eyes. She was standing with some guy, an Eevee in her arms. She had a pair of long white gloves on, even though it was warm. She was shopping...

[Fade in the sounds of a bustling street. Vendors are calling out street cart wares. 'Flowers!', 'Fresh fish!', 'Potions!'. Newspaper headlines are cried out "Team Rocket at it again! Get the latest scoop here!'. The sounds of Pokemon can be heard amongst the chatter.]

Mirabelle: Oh how lovely! Look at this, Snowball, isn't it pretty? It's just your color. Oh...but I can't afford that.

Francis: Don't fret, my dear, let me see that...

Mirabelle: Oh Francis, I couldn't...

[Conversation fades out. Narration resumes.]

I was about to turn away - she was pretty, but apparently poor. But as I watched, she lifted her
hand to brush back her hair and I saw it: the arm beneath her glove was solid gold. So I watched and I waited. I followed the handsome pair as they wove their way among the shop stalls. Francis, his name was.

He'd have to go.

[Harsh string music.]

I knew some guys. By tomorrow night, Francis would be in the river and that gold would be on its way to being mine.

[Music fades out. Sound of soft footfalls, followed by heavy. Footsteps speed up.]

Thug: There he is!

Francis: Who are you? What do you want?

Thug: Everything you've got.

[Fast, nervous music strikes up. There is the sound of thuds, a scream, and a squirtle crying out. Music swells and covers all before fading to background again.]

Mirabelle: Francis? Francis where are you?

[Sound of a squirtle.]

Mirabelle: Only Tootles came home last night, he brought me here! But there's nothing to be seen save an empty alley....

Thaddeus: Is everything alright, ma'am? I heard you yelling...

Mirabelle: Sir, please, have you seen my fiance, Dr. Francis Flemmet? He never came home. His squirtle came and got me, I fear something dreadful has happened!

Thaddeus: Calm yourself, sweet lady, I'm sure we'll find your vanished fiance! Here, allow me to help...

Mirabelle: This isn't like him at all you understand!

Thaddeus: Of course. my god, you're trembling, here take my arm.

[Sounds of footfalls on the street, night noises. Fades out to background music.

Narration resumes.]

We searched all night but no trace of the good doctor was found. Poor Mirabelle was inconsolable, but her dear friend Thaddeus Kraven was always there with a shoulder to cry on and a friendly arm to hold her. It wasn't long before Dr. Francis Flemmet was a fading memory.

[Soft, romantic music.]

Mirabelle: Oh Thaddeus, I don't know what I'd do without you. Oh, oh no Snowball, don't tug at my gloves!

Thaddeus: There there, she hasn't torn it...oh, what's this? A bracelet?

Mirabelle: No! No, I'm sorry, please don't touch it...it's...my hand. It's not flesh and blood, you see, it's gold. I lost my hand and...oh, you must think me a sickening thing!

Thaddeus: Of course not! Mirabelle, don't you see, I love you! Strange hand and all! Marry me, my love!

Mirabelle: Oh, Thaddeus! These are tears of joy!

[Music swells, fades, narration resumes.]

See, I had to marry her before I could poison her. Then that hand would be all mine.

[Harsh string music, fades out to Lust voicing credits.]

"This has been the first installment of 'The Golden Hand', by Fill In Blank Productions. Join us tomorrow night, same time and same frequency, for part two. Good night, and Happy Halloween."
