It's odd, isn't it, how having a personal claim to a place can make it something more than just a building or room?

I've stayed and lived in dozens and dozens of places, but they never meant anything. They were just that - places to stay, a point to return to. Even the pleasant or almost-permanent ones weren't particularly noteworthy and made little impression on me.

Why does choosing and laying claim to a place as yours suddenly make all the difference? It's such a strange quirk of emotions. Is it normal, to form some sort of emotional attachment to a place just because you've decided it's going to be your 'home'?

I don't think it's all that odd! When you own something you have...control over it, to a degree. You can arrange things and fill it up exactly as you want it, and knowing that makes it feel a little more safe. You also can say who can stay and who should leave, and people have to respect that. And if you've spent a long time without a place you 'belong' to, finally having that is a huge relief...at least, it was for me.

Uh... I guess because it's nice to have something you can say is yours? It's okay to be a little bit selfish and have a space all your own you can retreat to when you just want some time alone.

It has been strange lately. I enjoyed traveling, but with all the strangeness, I'm glad to be settled somewhere. And with a roof over me whenever I'd like.

I'm looking forward to just enjoying myself here in Goldenrod. It seems to be the time for it.

It'll be good to properly celebrate Halloween and stuff. Back home in Death City, it wasn't really a thing which was a little weird to adjust to, y'know?

A long time ago, it started out as a harvest season tradition. Kids would dress up in costumes so that spirits wouldn't recognize them, since the end of fall is when weird shit tends to happen. Those kids would go around collecting food to appease those same spirits.

It fell out of practice seriously due to a few reasons, I think, one amongst them being that meisters like himself actually proved waaaaay more effective, and then it just became a fun holiday for dressing up and spooky stuff!

Oh, yes, I think some of the villages back home still hold harvest festivals. Or they use to, I read about it once. There's a day of dancing and feasting and something with a...harvest crown, I didn't pay close attention. But at night children go around the village with lanterns, to ward off ill luck.

I noticed the flyers did say something about costumes encouraged...

Oh man, yeah! If you dress up, then I'll figure something out on the fly too!

Last time I was at the Circus, they had a bunch of stalls and stuff that sold all sorts of things. I wonder if they have any Halloween stuff now for the month?

I don't think I want to bother rushing out and getting a whole costume, but I think I'll grab a hat or mask or something.

Or maybe we can find things at the circus, in that case. I saw a glimpse of things through video earlier, it looked properly spooky and themed.
